Annual Memorial service
28Th November 2010 at 3pm

Advent for many it becomes the time of year to start shopping, organising food and planning celebrations with families. Yet whilst for many Christmas will be a season of happiness. There are those for whom Christmas is a difficult time, especially as they remember those who they love and have lost through death.
For a number of years at Clarence Park Baptist Church we have held an annual memorial service. This is a service to enable people who have been bereaved during the last 12 months or longer to come and at the beginning of advent to take some time to come and to remember. We have however found that many people who have lost loved ones over the years even many years also like to attend this service so that they can sit, remember and give thanks.
The service itself lasts for around 40 minuets during which everyone present will be given the opportunity to come and light a candle to signify their thoughts and prayers.
Tea and coffee will be served after the service, or for those people who wish to stay in the silence of the worship sanctuary, the church will be left open to enable people to continue to sit and pray or just spend time with their memories.
If you feel that you would like to take up the invitation then it would be wonderful to see you at the service… please feel free to invite other family members and close friends…. And also please let others who you know who have lost those they love recently through death about the service as they are also welcome to attend.
If you would like more information about this service then please do not hesitate to contact the minister via the church office or contact details.
